DCEU's 2019's Shazam sequel 'Shazam! The Fury Of Gods' returning Zachary Levi in the lead role casts Lucy Liu as Kalypso's sister of Hespera play by Helen Mirren in the movie. So, Billy Batson going to face two goddesses in the sequel of the movie.
According to the Variety reports, 2019's Elementary star Lucy Liu joined the movie as a goddess with Helen Mirren’s who will play the main villain role Hespera, as the villainous Kalypso.
Both the characters are the daughters of Atlas. He is a mighty gladiator, champion, and liberator. Liu also worked in the MCU as a director of a season two episode of Luke Cage.
Shazam!: Fury of the Gods back Zachary Levi in the title role,Asher Angel as his teenage alter ego Billy Batson, David F. Sandberg will direct the movie and screenplay by Henry Gayden. Other Shazam cast is expected to return in the sequel such as Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Faithe Herman, Ross Butler, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, D.J. Cotrona, Meagan Good, Grace Fulton.
The Kalypso character does not have an equivalent in the comics and will be based on real Greek mythology. And Rachel Zegler is also casted in an undisclosed role.
The movie will be going to deeply connect with Dwayne Johnson’s (The Rock) upcoming movie Black Adam film which recently started movie production soon with a new release date.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods is scheduled to release in theaters on June 2, 2023.
